Stepping up to long-term shutdown success

The Customer

Our client distributes a complete range of premium abrasive products to more than 80 countries. The organisation employs over 450 people across 13 offices, two mines, and eight processing plants and recycling facilities across Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas.

The Situation

To elevate its shutdown performance, our client was determined to transition from a manual, paper-based system to an efficient, end-to-end digital solution.

The organisation sought a cutting-edge system to bolster its readiness, enhance visibility, make better business decisions, and fast-track its shutdown maturity.

The leadership team chose IMMS and its Software as a Service (SaaS) solution, SMSi Professional, to support its 50-strong team and transform its modest but pivotal annual shutdown program.

The Solution

  • Improved role definitions, collaboration, and information sharing across supervisors, team members, and contractors.
  • Executed the event effectively using the SMSi Supervision Plus mobile app to capture work progress and act on delays and issues in real time.
  • Improved insights and sped up decision making with a range of easy-to-use and powerful dashboards and reports..
  • Used data and learnings to improve planning for future shutdown events.
